Buffalo Bills supporters should be concerned about these three Baltimore Ravens players.
It is reasonable to say that the Buffalo Bills are the best team in the NFL after three consecutive victories. After several key players left, fans misjudged the Bills team. For the first season since 2020, though, the Bills are presently 3-0 and have already put on some impressive displays.
Even with Diggs and Davis gone, the Bills offensive appears to have improved as they now lead the league in points scored, averaging 37.3 points and 14 touchdowns. With a combined total of six sacks from Von Miller and Greg Rousseau, the defense has also been outstanding, particularly the defensive line. As a result, the defense has only given up four touchdowns this season.
The Bills will now be put to the test as they play the Ravens, a team with a 1-2 record that is eager to turn things around. Players and coaches alike are aware of the talent this club hides. That squad has a lot of quality players who can take over a game and make things difficult for the opposition.
Lamar Jackson
This one should come as no surprise as it is evident. Lamar Jackson possesses generational skill and is perhaps one of the league’s top three quarterbacks. The two-time MVP has a good arm and accuracy that make him one of the best scramblers in NFL history, if not the best.
Jackson, though, is more effective on the ground than in the air. To keep Jackson in the pocket, Bills linebackers and edge rushers need to use every effort. Jackson enjoys making plays with his feet, so the Bills have a strong chance of winning if their defense can stop him from doing so and avoid giving him any discomfort.
Derrick Henry
Despite being thirty years old, the 6’3″, 250 pound rushing back is still a formidable opponent. Henry, who plays for a Ravens team that is in contention, is carrying on his Hall of Fame career. Henry continues to demonstrate why he is among the league’s top runners at thirty, as evidenced by his 151 yards and two touchdowns against the Cowboys.
Henry is an all-pro rushing back who excels at hauling defenders and breaking tackles, so linebackers should get after him. Henry can easily take over a game, so the front seven need to make sure he doesn’t get a full head of steam.
Roquan Smith
It’s surprising that Smith, who leads the Ravens defense in tackles, is one of the team’s more underappreciated players. Although supporters may argue in favor of Kyle Hamilton, Smith is the mainstay of that defense.
Despite the addition of a new defensive coordinator, the Ravens’ defense has underperformed this season, with Smith being one of the more reliable players.
The Bills must restrict Smith because he is a superb run-stopper and a terrific pass-defender. The offensive line for the Bills has been outstanding thus far, and they must continue to be so in this game, particularly with regard to blocking at the second level and preventing game-changing plays from being made by Roquan Smith.
Smith can rush a quarterback one-on-one with a blocker in some blitz packages, so the Bills should keep an eye on him. Additionally, the offensive ought to strive to outsmart and stay one step ahead of Smith. Joe Brady ought to keep adding play actions to Smith’s run game stunt in order to intensify it and keep the player guessing.
