SAD NEWS FOR EVERTON AS THEY LOST A KEY PLAYER…

When Everton hosts Newcastle United this weekend, they’ll be looking to win back-to-back games, but Sean Dyche won’t have one of his summer additions available.

On Saturday, the Toffees overcame Crystal Palace to win their first Premier League game of the year and move out of the relegation zone. A brace from Dwight McNeil secured the win after Marc Guehi had put Palace ahead in the first-half.

Writing about Broja’s absence from Albania’s most recent international squad, Ndreca posted on X: “Broja is in the last stage of recovery. Because Everton could not risk him suffering another injury while playing for the national team at a time when they had been waiting for him for so long, he is not on the October list. We’ll start a gradual activation process in November following our matches.

Given Broja’s injury, Dominic Calvert-Lewin will probably start for Everton in the forward role on Saturday. Calvert-Lewin has scored six goals against Newcastle United in his career, a total only surpassed by his six goals against West Ham. He has been strongly linked to a move to Newcastle United in recent transfer windows.

Dyche, meantime, has another choice for the weekend: Beto. The 26-year-old has only made four appearances in the Premier League this year, although he did score in this match last year, which Everton won 3-0.
