Same Old Story: Sirianni Fails to Outsmart Bucs… Again
With yet another rout in Week 4, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers improved to 4-1 over Nick Sirianni’s Philadelphia Eagles. The Bucs easily won the game, leading 24-0 at one point before letting up and enabling the Eagles to make it appear a little less lopsided.
Following their 33-16 victory, the team comically employed Jason Kelce to taunt the Eagles. After the Bucs prevailed 33 to 16, Sirianni accepted responsibility for the defeat, claiming that his team wasn’t prepared for the game.
“I didn’t have the guys ready to start,” Sirianni admitted. “I thought we had a couple drops and some missed tackles early in the game.” Fundamentals will need to be covered first because those are the drives that will halt and those that will prolong. After that, we’ll be examining the roles that we are assigning the men. However, we just did not play or coach well enough, which affected every aspect of the game, including penalties.”
Given that Sirianni was against him since he was hired as the Eagles head coach in 2021, with the win over Philly in the Wild Card playoffs of the previous season being a blowout. You would think that after the Bucs’ butt kicks since Sirianni took the helm as head coach of the Eagles, he would have had his team a little more polished and ready to go, but apparently not...
