Right now, it’s hard to find a better player in Australian rugby than Maya Stewart. The Wallaroos winger is on fire, delivering another standout performance in Australia’s hard-fought 33-26 victory over South Africa in the WXV2 on Sunday in Cape Town.

Stewart scored for the sixth consecutive Test match, surpassing Tricia Brown’s all-time Wallaroos record with her 15th career try.

If you haven’t seen her recent tries, it’s worth checking them out. Last week, she dazzled against Wales, beating six defenders from 55 meters out. Against South Africa, she also showcased some Lomu-like strength to set up a try.

In terms of finishing ability, Stewart is rivaled only by a few in Australian rugby, such as Maddi Levi, Tim Ryan, and her own teammate Desi Miller. It’s clear: Rugby Australia should watch out, as NRLW clubs will likely be eyeing Stewart closely.

Under coach Jo Yapp, the Wallaroos are hitting their stride, with a chance to win the WXV2 title when they face Scotland next Sunday.
